Although summertime weddings are always lovely, we loved Audrey and Ludger’s spring mountain wedding, hosted at Old Edwards Inn in North Carolina. They were able to take full advantage of the beautiful natural changes of the season and highlight the charming features of Old Edwards Inn, such as the surrounding greenery and dark wood tables. Evident in the decor, venue, and our cakes, the couple was also able to embrace everything the spring season has to offer by playing with both rustic and classic wedding elements.
We love Old Edwards Inn for weddings. This casually elegant, mountain-inspired venue allowed the couple and their guests to enjoy a private and intimate wedding enclosed by nature while still enjoying luxurious rooms and amenities. To complement their vision, we created a classic white tiered cake with textured frosting strokes and natural spring elements like budding leaves and delicate pink and white flowers. To further explore the rustic, rich feel of the wedding, we created a small tiered cake featuring blends of chocolate and cream cheese frosting to resemble a tree trunk with their initials in a heart “carved” in the center. For a rustic take on the classic bride and groom figurines, this cake featured two 3D turkey figurines wearing a small black top hat and veil respectively joined by a smaller 3D version of the initials carved on the front of the cake. From a restored vintage car to these cakes, we loved all of the charming details of this wedding!
