We loved Adrienne and Will’s romantic summer wedding that brought rustic elegance to the mountains. The couple celebrated their love at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, North Carolina, which is especially lush and vibrant for summer ceremonies. The couple posed for photos among the thick Juniper trees lining the country road. It was bright sunshiny day in North Carolina, which brought even more magic to their event. Adrienne wore a glamorous champagne tulle wedding dress that was covered with delicate lace patterns. Will wore a dark blue suit with a chic, black bow tie that complemented the richer colors seen throughout the wedding.
The ceremony was in The Orchard House, which features a white interior and floor-to-ceiling windows that let the sun shine in to the flower-lined hall. The floral arrangements at the end of the aisle and around the alter brought everything the lush North Carolina landscape has to offer indoors. White and pale pink flowers with fresh greenery were used in the arrangements.
For the reception, Adrienne and Will continued to have soft moments of pink flowers and champagne, but incorporated the richer elements of The Barn Pavilion at Old Edwards Inn as well. The barn features a massive stone fireplace, pine beams and metal roof, while the pavilion is all glass, showcasing an indoor/outdoor feel. They hung golden string lights across the entire hall creating a truly enchanting reception. A wreath of flowers rested on the chandelier, matching the large floral arrangements at guests’ tables. This rustic space is one of the several wedding locations at Old Edwards Inn that we love working in and seeing how each couple makes it their own. This wedding was no exception! From the stunning flower arrangements, the hanging cake stand, and golden calligraphy on invitations to the bourbon and cigar table, Adrienne and Will made this weddings theirs!
Adrienne and Will’s wedding cake was both bright and romantic like the rest of their wedding, and as we mentioned, suspended in the air and lined with greenery. The classic four-tiered wedding cake was painted with edible gold leaves and clusters of white and pink flowers. The second cake was a smaller two-tiered cake with textured white frosting, white flowers, and styled with antlers on the table. We loved creating these charming cakes for Adrienne and Will! See below for wedding cake details and snapshots from their wedding day.
